A wonderful stay in a beautiful hotel to make our trip to Agra extra special

Property is beautiful, the staff were amazingly friendly - they allowed us to check in early and to an upgraded room free of charge. The view of the Taj is fantastic (although a little hazy in November) The pool is a great place to relax and the staff were very kind with lots of little extras included to make they stay more social The breakfast was delicious and the chef gave us a wonderful tour of her kitchen

The 2 restaurants weren’t particularly special but the chef was lovely and gave us a tour of the kitchen Some of the pricing in the bar is a bit off - equivalent of £40 for a double gin and tonic but a cocktail of the same amount is half of that.

Very pleasant stay

Very nice place to stay, excellent service, excellent food and grand. You also pay the price for it but at the end of the day, it’s worth it.

The smog over the city during this time of the year was shocking.. This totally hampered the expected view of the taj Mahal from our bedroom balcony. The picture used by booking shows a clear view of the Taj Mahal and was the selling point of the hotel for us.

The best 5* hotel in Rajasthan with such a exceptional view!!

Waoohhh!!! the vue is just incredible right on the Taj and the gardens, the pool, the terraces are just perfect settings!! Our bedroom was very nice too. Pool is heated which is really nice that time of year. Beautifully decorated. Superb staff. THE BEST SERVICE in our 3 weeks stay in Rajasthan. Really a gem! Excellent idea to tip at the end of our stay "all in one go". Helped us out to get tickets and a guide (at no extra costs versus "standard prices") to visit the Taj Mahal. Excellent guide JITIN - very good English + very knowledgeable also beside the Taj itself. Excellent service / bar next to the Pool. Nice Hamman (please book in advance!)

We already said that to the staff as they prompted the question when we left. Everything was perfect but 1. the atmosphere of the restaurants could be improved (not very romantic... no candles on tables, very "cold" both in temperature and atmosphere) and 2. ok the gym was getting refurbished and there was a temp gym instead but hardly any equipment to use (no matts for ex.)

Location, amenities and staff are as magic as taj.

Staff little too slow in providing services; took us almost 30 min to check in our room, limited variety on food considering the premium level of this hotel. Hotel guides for taj not very well prepared. Rooms to be little updated though

A perfect couple days. The stuff that holiday dreams are made of!

This is the most amazing hotel I have ever or will ever stay in. For the view of the Taj Mahal from your bedroom window alone, it is worth staying here. Walking on to the balcony for a welcome drink and the first glimpse of the Taj Mahal brings a lump to your throat. The staff were excellent from start to finish and looked after us and our boys so well from start to finish. It is not cheap but if you are ever going to splurge on a hotel, and you are visiting Agra, splurge on this one! PS. Order the Baingan Bharta it is the best Indian food I have ever eaten!

Having to leave. Although the internet speed was generally very good for some reason we couldn't get Netflix to stream on the smart TV. How light my wallet was on checkout.

The hotel is fantastic.

The hotel is fantastic. Breakfast and restaurants are excellent (both Western and Indian food). Very clean and well maintained. Beautiful view of the Taj Mahal. Very courteous staff,

Some rooms (premier rooms) can be converted into family rooms (they have communication with the next room, which is closed when guests are not related). As a result, we could hear noise coming from the next room. But as soon as we spoke to the front desk, the staff was very attentive and we were immediately changed to another room (and we even received an upgrade).

We love it! Alot to love when you stay in Amarvilas. 1. Friendly staff 2. Walking distance to the entry gate of Taj Mahal 3. All room is facing Taj Mahal 4. Yummy room service 5. Delicious breakfast 6. They gave extra care to children, snack in the afternoon and personalised pillow with their names on it. 7. Beautiful hotel Sad that we have to leave!

Lovely stay as always at the Amarvilas. Perfect location to the Taj Mahal, beautiful views and an excellent front desk team that assisted with all of our needs. Treat yourself!

The spa was a let down this time. Service was poor and staff were confused. My partner called ahead to book a steam room, only to find the steam room turned off and locked when he went there in his robe. An F&B staff member wandering outside tried to help, and they both found themselves wandering into every room and checking the steam function, was rather funny. He gave up in the end. Definitely not Oberoi standard but hopefully just an anomaly with us. The other times I've been to their spa, there was no issue. The best spa in Agra is still at the ITC Mughal!

A long way still to walk to re-define luxury

Location, the view is fantastic, and the hotel itself is fantastic.

For the price, apart from view and scenography, the choice of this hotel is not justified. The dinner (which is included in room price) is disappointing for the poor choice and quality (I had a chicken re-cooked). This is not a big problem,there are restaurants around, but it does not match with the hotel aim to provide guests with "luxury re-defined". For the same room price one can go to Burj Al-Arab to know what is luxury, or just to a normal Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons (much cheaper). It is true that the view is unique, but it is also true that improving the quality of food and training better the service team is a must to justify that price and the claim to re-define luxury.

Attentive and Sophosticatic Hospitality

No competition in terms of the proximity to the Taj Mahal - we got upgraded to a suite which was a lovely surprise - so the whole experience was heightened and beyond expectation. Very friendly and attentive service across the board. We were celebrating our 23 wedding anniversary and the staff made sure the room was adorned with romantic touches - rose petals in the bath - very well done.

Breakfast was in room dining and was average at best - would love Indian breakfast options
